Terms of service
Last updated 20 October 2026
Draft. This page is being reviewed and may change before Rent Rig starts charging.
These terms are an agreement between [Company legal name, e.g. Rent Rig LLC] ("Rent Rig", "we") and the business that creates a Rent Rig account ("you"). By creating an account or using Rent Rig, you accept them on behalf of your business.
1. What Rent Rig is
Rent Rig is software for running an equipment rental business: inventory, check-out and check-in, rental agreements and receipts, bookings, payments you record, customer emails and reports, on the phone app and the website.
Rent Rig is a tool. We are not a party to your rentals, we do not rent equipment, and we are not responsible for your equipment, your customers, or the rentals between you and them.
2. Your account and team
- You must give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done with your account.
- The owner of an account can invite people and give them roles. You are responsible for who you invite and what they do.
- You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms for your business.
3. Your data and your customers' data
- What you put into Rent Rig is yours: equipment, rentals, payments, and your customers' details, including ID photos, dates of birth and signatures. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Rent Rig for you.
- For your customers' personal information, you decide what is collected and why, and we handle it on your behalf. You are responsible for having a lawful reason to collect it, for telling your customers about it, and for answering their requests. Our privacy policy explains how we look after it.
- You can export your data at any time, and delete your account and everything in it from Settings.
4. Rental agreements
Rent Rig includes a starter rental agreement you can edit. It is an example, not legal advice. You are responsible for the wording you use and for making sure it suits your business and your state's laws.
5. Payments
Rent Rig records how your customers paid (cash, Zelle or card) but does not take or hold your customers' money. Card payments are taken on your own terminal. If Rent Rig later offers card processing, it will be provided by a payment company under its own terms.
6. Plans, trial and billing
- New accounts get a free trial. After it, a paid plan is needed to keep checking equipment out.
- Plans renew monthly or yearly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; the plan continues to the end of the period already paid.
- If a plan is not paid, your account becomes read-only. We do not delete your data for non-payment without notice.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. During early access Rent Rig is free.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use Rent Rig for anything unlawful, to store information you have no right to, to send spam through its emails, or to try to get into other businesses' data or disrupt the service.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Rent Rig running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may improve and change features. If we stop offering Rent Rig, we will give you notice and time to export your data.
9. Liability
Rent Rig is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or disputes between you and your customers, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Ending
You can stop using Rent Rig and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after notice where we reasonably can.
11. Changes to these terms
We will tell you about important changes before they take effect. Continuing to use Rent Rig after that means you accept them.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [State, e.g. Arizona]. Questions: [support email, e.g. support@rentrig.io], or write to [Company legal name, e.g. Rent Rig LLC], [Mailing address].
